How Much Does an Ad Contribute to Your Life?
Advertising can provide real value. It also asks for something in return. Our first essay examines that exchange—and why MYK chooses not to build around it.

Software should respect the person using it.
A lot of modern software is designed around a different question:
“How do we keep the user here longer?”
We ask:
“How can we make this useful?”
That difference shapes everything we build.
Four kinds of respect
A standard you can hold us to.
01Your attention is not ad space.
Respect attention.
We don’t sell your attention to advertisers.
No banners. No interstitials. No sponsored interruptions. No engagement traps designed to make you stay longer than you intended.
Our apps should accomplish their purpose and let you move on with your life.
02Your data is not our business model.
Respect privacy.
We collect as little information as possible. Whenever possible, your information stays on your device.
We don’t build profiles about you so somebody else can advertise to you more effectively.
If an app genuinely needs information to provide a feature, we explain what it needs and why in plain language.
03No tricks.
Respect intelligence.
You should understand what an app is doing.
No dark patterns. No deliberately confusing buttons. No fake urgency. No notification pressure. No features intentionally made frustrating so you’ll pay.
We would rather earn your trust than engineer your behavior.
04Free means free.
Respect your money.
A free app should not make you pay with your attention or your privacy.
When an app has premium features, you pay once and keep them. No monthly charge for a simple utility. No yearly renewal for features you’ve already bought.
PremiumPay once.
Keep it.
Free means free. Premium means pay once.
A better measure
We don't measure success by how long we can keep you inside an app.
We measure it by whether the app was useful.
30 minutesor30 seconds
If it helped, it did its job.
The MYK promise
Clear incentives.
Straightforward products.
No ads.
We will not build products whose business model depends on interrupting you.
Privacy by design.
We minimize collection instead of collecting everything and promising to protect it afterward.
No manipulative UX.
We don’t design against the interests of the person using the product.
No subscription tax.
Premium features are sold through straightforward one-time purchases.
